Natars And End Game Stuff

My little birdy has been whispering in my ear about what the end game is gonna be like...

Natars appear in set locations and they are the same every time the server restarts....

NE Area = 0, 75 | 75, 0 | 125, 125 | 0, 225 | 225, 0 |
SE Area = 0, -1 | 0, -75 | 125, -125 | 0, -225
NW Area = -75, 0 | -125, 125 | -225, 0
SW Area = -125, -125

Look at the map and you'll see the big alliances have already staked claim to all of those. That is where the Natars will pop up.

When a village builds a Wonder, the Natars start attacking. As the levels of the Wonder increase, the Natars increase the number and level of their troops. In order to win, your alliance must build a level 100 Wonder of the World. As that level approaches... Natars send so many troops that the captured Natar village MUST be defended by millions of troops. 15 million is the number of troops needed to be a good defense.

now i get why there's a sudden expanse of Zero's nearby, it's only 2 and a half hours imperian march away from a natar spot...
i could come in handy for them, think i should make an offer to the Zero T-F leader for their use of my defensive troops?

i think you should wait then the whole alliance can offer troops. maybe we could get in their good books :)

We need to gather our supporters within all of the Zero wings to campaign for us when we officially request Wing status or an alliance.

You can start up a personal alliance with him but not to be confused with the alliances. The more friendly we are with Zero players, the more likely they will support {IC} becoming an official ally.

I have a personal alliance with fourstar even though Zero X has been rather rough with us. To me, if you can become friends with the person, I don't mind. Just be careful what you tell that person. fourstar gives me quite a bit of inside info on Zero. Some of it I share (most) and some I don't. I share some info with him about {IC} but I only trust him becasue we've built up the trust over 2 months. I know he can wipe me out in the matter of a few minutes. Really... minutes.

Zero X seem to be fine, but the rest of them are under heavy fire, probably from the [M]eta alliances
Zero2 and 2+ are going down...

Dunno if this is the wrong place to write this, and I did mention it to Daddy Q before, but I have a very good friend (the one who got me on here) who is in Myth A. May be another way to open comms with a big & growing alliance come the endgame?

what keebler is trying to say, is that we have had more than a few troubles with many MyTh members in the course of the game, and so we definately do not wish to be helping them in the upcoming end game.
i hope [M] don't win this server, partly because i'd have turned down the winning team, but also because they'll have won UK Speed two times in a row, and that's not fun. from what i hear, they weren't the largest alliance, but were very highly organised and built the wonder first...

Fair comment.. this is my first time on here, and only been here a month, so it's all still learning - looking forwards to starting one at the beginning next time tho.

As for organisation - ALWAYS beats pure brute strength & numbers alone (within reason, of course).

i think we should help the alliance which looks the most likely to win which atm isnt ZERO.

but i think we're limited to the alliances we can help.
the holders of the northwest natar spots are:
    Zero (-225,0)
    MyTh (-125,125)
    [M]eta (-75,0)

you should look at the MyTh spot though, it is immense. i dare someone to settle a village on the spot and make it their capital as quick as possible :p

and the Zero spot itself is an oasis, so the natar village will appear next door.
and it seems they've been under heavy fire, its shrunk since i last checked and theres at least one MyTh player there...

LMAO now that is what I call a stronghold... what ya think the chances of getting a palace built there before you lose it? could be fun :D

well, it would be demolished to 0 and removed from the map even if it was your capital, if you had other villages.
soooo, if your first village was leveled to 0 while settlers were on their way, and you were fast and lucky enough, you COULD switch capitals, so that your first village disappears when you switch and so even if/when the invading village is leveled to 0 population, it will remain on the map and the natar village will appear in an adjacent square, or as adjacent as possible, rendering their powerbase less efficient and disrupting them for a while...

    just a thought :p

is it worth making a new account (getting a friend to do it, of course) and making settlers PURELY with that aim? lol

that would be funny as hell if someone did that!!

Nope, if you lose a village with settlers on their way somewhere they just disappear. That happened to me when Godsend took over Medlock.

but if it was your only village, the village woudn't disappear, it remains on the map for all to see. so i figure the settlers COULD keep going :p

So Based on this POST.... We have two options. [M] or Myth Natar defense, OR try to latch onto a coalition that is intending to fight for a Natar village.

i'm really not sure who to back now :(
the MyTh natar spot is the closest to us i think, still a long distance, and do we really want to help MyTh?

We COULD just pull back all outpost troops and sit tight. We could then offer Myth troops after the start fighting for the spots.

We'd be like mercenaries then... We would sacrifice the villages outside the outpost in order to defend the outpost to the death. They server no purpose other than wheat. They are worthless for troops since they wouldn't be able to produce enough to make a difference.

That's my recommendation... don't waste a single outpost troop. We try to hold onto the villages in the south and maybe the old powerbase since they can help distribute resources up and down the line.

So... we wait... we hold on until someone major needs troops. I have over 20k in just spear and another 10k elite pals between powerbase and outpost. MY quota for troops is met so everything else is gravy. My other croppers are just coming up to full power. They will help keep Hera's two barracks and stables humming...

The one on this map (closest to me in the burbs) seems to be a lot less densely surrounded than some - wonder if that makes it more interesting to watch or less?!?!

So what are the implications of this for us now ?
Will attacks on our villages become more or less frequent ?
Will potential aggressors be looking for easy pickings ?
Do we now just concentrate on defense of what we have or expand where we can ?

As a 1st time Travian I have no idea..

    My guess... No idea.

Defense and hope for someone to find some plans in an oasis. If we get that, we can... I'm not sure...
  • edited April 2008
I was wondering ... IF the WW villages need so much defence - do the big alliances holding them leave their other villages less defended??

If so, could we get some revenge by attacking their "feeder" villages, maybe even stealing some?? Especially if they are too busy to be attacking us back :P
