Solution for <4gb in XP32?

Ok, while helping someone with memory problems I stumbled onto this. PAE says that it can allow 32bit OSes with a physical address extension to use more than 4gb physical memory. You got any info on this?

It's been a while since I've read these, but they might be of use. They cover the concept behind PAE in Part 1 (first link).

The short version is using PAE increases your user space from 2GB to 3GB, but decreases the kernel space. I haven't actually tried using this, but the MS link you mention sort of sounds like results aren't guaranteed to work.

Just out of curiosity, what are you doing that would require more than 4GB?

You cannot get 4GB of memory working on XP32 unless you're using SP1 or less. There are no boot.ini switches that will make it work.
