Changing Capitals

My first village (Falconers village) was my capital until I changed it to Talon 3.
I forgot it would level all other villages to 10 on resources. (SUCKS)
Falconers village was just starting to produce pretty good.
5000-6000 of each resource per hr.
I know, I know, It has it in the game faqs.
I read them when I started, but forgot it was going to lower resources at all villages to 10 (3000 per hr) and freezes them there. Except the capital.
I destroyed the palace (level 2) at Talon 3 and have a residence started.
So now, I'm in the process of destroying my residence at Talon 1 and am going to make a palace to change it to capital. (Because the resources are all getting finished to lvl 10 soon.)
Is this the correct procedure to change capitals?
Just looking for a little confirmation before I go crazy here, changing everything up.
Thnx for replies friends.

if i had done what you did, i would just keep on the same track, as it saves a lot more resources, and few people like to keep their first village as their capital.
but my plan for capital is my new 9 cropper, so that i can provide a ton of wheat, therefore a ton of troops, while not as dependent on supply villages, as 9c's can provide for themselves easier

My biggest problem is... Falconers village is 5 hrs away from all my other villages at the outpost.
And that sucks for sending resources.
So, I figured having the capital right here in the outpost would be much wiser for protection and getting resources to my village fast.
So, I'm on the right track.
I just wanted to be sure that I could change capitals the way I am doing it.

yeah, you can theoretically change capitals as much as you like, it just involves building a palace in one village, pressing the button to change, and then demolishing that one & repeating the process...

    but it offers little benefit...

I would recommend that you make one of your outpost villages you capital.

Talon 1 is now working on capital lvl 3 and I'm waiting for Falconers village to release the lock on my resources now.

After you build your palace and establish your village as the new capital, can you demolish the prerequisite embassy?

I just found out that if I switch capitals and withdraw my men from Marpesia my wheat production will go negative. :(

What's a good way to kill off a few hundred units?

i found that to kill off my remaining cavalry, i put them into a majorly farmed inactive, remembered not to attack it, and waited for people to hit it.
or you could just sent your units to reinforce one of your own villages. then it'll use that village's wheat.
my first village has about 10k troops, but most of them are within 2 of my croppers.

If you are happy topping up the wheat I am more than happy to keep them entertained. Currently running at -4786, without using gold so can sustain this at the moment. They have been having such a good time ;)

Ah, didn't realize you were running negative. Gr8, maybe send them somewhere else? Anyone else need/want reinforcements?

I keep sending 1 or 2 merchants worth (7500 atm) a couple times a day hehe. I can't be bothered to check how much you actually have though so I don't know how much goes to waste. :p

    None goes to waste.
I also send about 20K's worth a day as well.
The rest is made up through constant raiding and dealing excess's on the market.
She's done well if I say so myself.

The problem is how long to continue propping it up when she's surrounded by MyTh people...As stated in the 1st "Duchess strikes back" thread, she's under no illusion that her time there is limited and as such she's built a pretty good set of villages at the outpost that is now just troop building.

    Go girl !
