It just started last 2 weeks ago. thought that i could fix it, but here i am in icrontic asking for help again!

It started with the game Special Force. when the game guard stops patchin and the game would start, my PC would restart. So after that i thought it was the game's problem. So i quited SF and played again Warrock.. after the download, patches, game guard, SAME WITH SPECIAL FORCE my PC restarts again!.

Pls reply or redirect me if im on the wrong category.

THANKS!!!

Edit of me XD: i have tried installing Need For Speed Most Wanted again if its the GPU's problem, but IT WORKED FINE. and i would like to add my system specs, kinda old: AMD sempron +2800 1.6ghz, 1.25 gigs ram Geforce 5500 FX GPU

Are your video drivers up-to-date? Same with DirectX version. What about your motherboard drivers? Latest Windows updates?

It might be blue-screening. Do this:

    Right click My Computer.
    Click Properties
    Click the Advanced Tab
Under Startup and Recovery, click the Settings button
    Uncheck Automatically Restart
    Click OK twice.

The next time it goes to reboot, if it is blue-screening, it should keep the message on-screen. Record this and post it here if you can.

Do all the games that crash use game guard? My friend has had loads of problems with that before, the game would randomly close and he had to restart before he could do anything else.

Good point. I'm not familiar with Game Guard, so I unintentionally glossed over that.

Cyclonite, as usual it just went of for a normal reboot. no blue screen loaded. haraduth, no i do not have to restart the PC because it AUTOMATICALY restarts after game guard load XD. for little note, Warrock and Special Force is a online shooter. other games here in my PC works fine

Aye but I mean do you get the same problem with FPS games that don't use gameguard? I've heard it causes LOTS of problems.

Try and run memtest also... you never know, it could just be bad ram affecting your games.

    Memtest.

You need to download it, burn it to a 700MB disk and then restart your computer and it should sort itself, if it doesn't work when it restarts then you need to enable your CD drive as a bootable device in the BIOS.

Ok, but gotta w8 for 2 days, gonna purchase a new video card ( my 5500 FX is crappy XD), but the ram seems no problem, i play carbon and most wanted NFS with almost no loading. and the games that have game guard that restarts ( Special Force & Warrock ) have the required memory needed, over it actually. another info, my ram is DDR 400

Is this GameGuard a third party program? Maybe it's possible to update GG.

You can't run the games without GameGuard- it's an anti-hacking program for the games. You should probably contact the game's customer support since they should have a fix for this problem since gameguard has been fecking people over for years.

I hate game-guard. I stopped playing GG games because they would randomly crash on me, and would like melt my computer if iTunes was open at the same time.

Try the RAM thing, but also try closing down any programs running in the backgroound before you start your game.

Its a problem quite a few people have been having, as far as I can tell there isn't an official fix for it yet, but there might be user tricks and tweaks
