Need for speed carbon crashes randomly- yes, i know the game is old...

I've just got my laptop up and running, has vista and all the stuff I need. However, after trying to install NFS Carbon, it loads, the EA thingy come up and then it closes saying its crashed! I've tried installing without process and stuff but it still does the same thing. The disk has got no scratches, however, the stupid game case has made small cracks around the inner hole. None of the cracks reach the main CD area, but has it affected it? While it installed, it didn't encounter any problems.

    Which patch do you have? Downloading the latest patch for it should fix this

    are you using a CD version or a cracked one? NFSC.exe, correct me if im wrong, is the file that starts the game right?

    Er... sorry about the delay to answer.

    It..err.. doesn't matter any more. Turns out i was installing the US patch instead of the UK one so, it err... wasn't working because of that.

    Damn, that's embarrassing. But hey, if you hadn't said anything harudath I wouldn't have realized the mistake. So, er... sorry guys.
