I love it, I have 561 songs so far, and I'm absolutely enthralled. I can't wait to get a guitar hero controller, as I'll admit that it's very hard to play with my logitech wireless keyboard.

But that's the beauty of playing the game. You are supposed to use your keyboard.

You can't strum up and down with the guitar controlled on FoF, don't get too excited- I REALLY hate FoF compared to GH2

I have FoF on the mac and I use a program that allows me to remap the wii controller to the mac. I plug that into my guitar and away I go - full strumming etc... Works perfectly.

Plus for FoF I have all GH1 - 3 songs plus a whole lot of other made ones. But I must admit while I love the variety of FoF. I still prefer the GH experience overall.

I borrowed a friends GH controller and it got much better. The keyboard works, but isn't perfect. I know what you say about variety. It just seems that the opengl is as smooth as it could be, but that could be vista too. I love the variety of songs. I have around 550 songs to choose from. Which for a casual player like myself is nice.

Not to mention I haven't spent a dime.

DUDE!!! Playing a Guitar Hero based game without a guitar is like... showering without water.

I got all of mine from torrent, and I'm borrowing a friends guitar. So it's actually very similar. The graphics aren't as polished, but graphics don't make the game.

yes you can, you silly brit =)

just set primary strum for down and secondary strum for up on the strum bar.

The problem with FoF is the quality of the user generated tracks.

You know what you're getting with Guitar Hero.

Ah, I didn't know you could do that- in any case it's my friend that has the USB guitar, not me- Ill let him know when he comes online. Thanks for that

The problem I had with user created FoF songs was that the songs seemed timed incorrectly. When you are supposed to strum doesn't quite match up with the notes. But yea as far as free software goes FoF is a winner!

There was this other GH-clone called Freetar Hero. I had loads of fun with the editor on that. I made an almost perfect version of System of a Down - Toxicity. I has REALLY carefully with the timing of the notes because i hate when im playing a song with off beats.

I use Guitar Zero, along with a program that lets me use my wii remote plugged into the GH3 guitar. Pretty cool until I figured out where I could get custom discs...

EEEK!! AAAH!!! RUN AWAY!!!! GH on the Wii fails epically- even when you do hit the notes unless your face is up against the screen the console doesn't pick anything up.

From my experience, and from nonstop whining from my friends I've managed to come to the conclusion that GH2/3 for the Wii sucks ass  But if it works fine for you then great :D

I play on the 360 mainly. When I try the Wii, I have difficulty adjusting to the timing differences. However, the controls have no issue whatsoever.

Mines fine. or maybe im just used to the timing, cause my friend has it for 360 and when he comes over and plays it on wii he has a little trouble.

That's exactly how it is. I was trying to figure out if it was different between various AV setups, but I played on another XBox in another place and did perfectly fine. If I play on a Wii anywhere, there's a pretty long adjustment period.

My friends who own it on Wii have difficulty playing it on the XBox for a bit.
