UPS members down for the count (at the moment)
Well, it's no secret to IC server locals that we've been missing a couple of regulars. Said regulars also happen to be in my clan. Here's the report on those MIA.
]UPS[ Hitman : Windows Vista. Simply. Awhile back he had some sort of boot time error with Vista that cropped up OUT OF NOWHERE and to fix it he put in the Vista disk and did repair... or something to that effect. Long story short, he half-way installed a SECOND copy of Vista on a seperate partition. But the computer worked, so we did not bode any issues. After awhile, the OS just completely keeled over. Last night I walked him through using a bootable by CD copy of Linux to gain access to his files and back them up on my external drive. I then walked him through reformatting the HDD and reinstalling windows. This was all while I played TF2 last night and had one of the best games of my life. I attribute it to my growing pain and frustration with over-the-phone computer work. Anyways, 2.5 hours later he's got a bootable copy of Windows. Hitman should be back tonight or tomorrow, depends on when he gets everything copied over and reinstalled.
]UPS[ Kingping - Funny story. You see... Kingpin got banned for a cheating infraction. I've talked to him about this, and the only "cheating" he can recall is using custom character skins months ago on a non-VAC sercured server. He used them a handful of times, and promptly removed the skin files before going back on legit servers. Valve won't tell him what the infraction is for, so our only guess is that he missed a file. Valve policy on such infractions is zero tolerance, and zero questions asked. He cannot have the infraction revoked, no matter how just or injust it may be. So he's got to save up money for another copy of the Orange Bawks. He'll be back soon enough.
That's the rap sheet. I swear, Weezer and I have the least amount of problems, and he's gaming on a Gateway!:o
