What do you actually want? Not to be a jerk, but your request doesn't make much sense.

A friend want to put up her web page with a www address
but don't want to pay an arm and a leg to do it.
Guess that's the best way to say it.

I use www.grandriverhosting.com for my sites, they are cheap and I really like the web tools.

Ah, I gotcha. There are lots of places where you can buy a .com address, my friend. Godaddy is supposed to be very reasonable, from everything that I've heard. Grandriver is also said to be quite reliable as well.

Yeh, what you need is first a domain, which the going rate is $10-$15 a year for. And then hosting, which can be had for as little as $5 a month depending on the host.

I use 1and1.com for domain and hosting. They seem have the best deals for what I need.

dreamhost.com had some really good hosting plans. I used to have the lowest $12 plan. The best part is they have this coupon floating aroun the web where you pay like $50 for the entire year.

expect lots of lulz, beerz, and an occasional two hour sheit break
