WiFi Client

1. The WZCSVC in Windows polls for superior networks every 60 seconds, and gives priority to association beacon packets over traffic packets. This means that every 60 seconds, a WLAN ping will exceed 1100 plus packet loss, and that makes for an unhappy experience.

2. My network card is a WMP54G running the RaLink RT61/RT2500 chip. RaLink offers their own wireless client, but connecting to any Ventrilo server immediately disconnects the client. That makes for an unhappy experience.

3. The Linksys WiFi utility is so broken that you can't click any of the buttons to create a network connection. That makes for an unhappy experience.

Therefore I ask the lot of you: Are there any additional alternatives? LucidLink requires the WMI services to be installed, and they're not because they're useless to me.

    Solved.

The Linksys client mysteriously started operating correctly.
