Something's amiss with a game of mine...

I can't figure out why I'm able to fully install Diablo2 and it's expansion, Lord of Destruction, but when I go to play it I get an error telling me that the CD isn't in the CD-ROM when it physically is. This is all after I've installed the last patch Blizzard came out with for the game.

Diablo2 comes with:
Install CD - can't be detected when game is installed
Play CD - can't be detected when game is installed
Cinematics CD - can't be detected when game is installed

Expansion comes with:
Install / Play CD - can't be detected when game is installed

    To elaborate a bit more on this;

    I just reinstalled Diablo2 alone, and with the Play CD in the CD-ROM, manually going into My Computer and double-clicking my CD-ROM from there takes me to the game menu with the option to play the game, but clicking that gives me the previously mentioned error.

    You got any disk emulation software running; such as Alcohol or Nero Virtual Drive?

    A few options:

    1) Make an .iso out of the CD you've got and attempt to run it that way via Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, or whatever floats your boat for virtual drive software. I don't know if there's any sort of copy protection on the CD itself, though.

    2) Use a no-cd crack for the game.

    Have you changed your drives around on your machine at all? It could be the drive letter got re-assigned and it doesn't like it anymore.

    qft.

    I've run into some older games that will only look for the disc at the drive letter that it was originally installed from.

    I did change my Hard Drives around with the SATA connectors, but the CD-ROM itself doesn't use a SATA connector. It's one of those wide duct-tape colored connectors that plugs into the MoBo next to where the power supply plugs into.

    I apologize for not knowing the name >_<

    Ok, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and before trying to run it I shut down the computer for about half an hour, turned it back on and now the freaking thing runs just fine.
