y-axis inverter

I want some way to force the mouse y-axis to reverse. I'm playing a game that doesn't have this as an option. I love the game otherwise, but this one thing is making it frustratingly unplayable for me.

Is there an obscure setting somewhere in a back-alley options panel? a third-party mouse customizer? anything that will make my game playable?

I found this. It seems like it's meant to be a practical joke, but it might do what I need. I'm going to try this evening.

Well, that didn't work. It revered the axis in windows, and even in the game menus and selections screens, but it did not reverse it for controlling the avatar. I don't even understand how that's possible, but whatever...

I still need a solution for this, then.

I think the game has to support it. Or maybe the mouse software, but otherwise I'm clueless.

It sounds like what's happening is that the menu uses the normal windows mouse input, but the in game stuff uses something else (and by something else I mean DirectInput). The problem here is that DI relays messages directly from the driver and so a layer that sits on top of that like this prank wont work, what you need is an inverter at the driver level such as:

It works like a charm. It functions perfectly, and has a very simple and intuitive activation (a certain sequence of button presses that are easy to remember, but which you would never hit on accident) I'm going to send this dude some moneys, and make this driver a regular part of all my installs from here on out.
