Help Burning DVDs

I have a bunch of .zip files that I want to burn to DVD. Sometimes DVDs fail to burn even if the burning software is on its slowest speed. Presently I am using Nero.

What is the best software for burning DVDs?

Are there any tips for burning that will ensure that I burn the files completely?

    If you're failing discs, you have bad discs or a dirty drive lens. DVD writers should have no troubles with a DVD at any speed they're rated for.

    I have to disagree with Thrax. Nothing lasts forever and that is true for DVD burners. While you just may be using bad discs or it could be a dirty lense, how old is the burner, and what was it's lifetime use?
