Vista not "waking up"

Hi guys,
Am having trouble working this one out and, once again, require a little expert know-how.
Recently, when my Sony Vista running laptop goes into hibernation (ie screen and powersaving) it doesnt wake up again. It used to take just a press of the space bar or a nudge on the mouse to kick-start it back into life, but now, nothing.
I have to force a shutdown and restart (getting boring several times a day).
I have checked the power settings and all seems as per usual...any ideas as to what to look for?
Regards
Ntd

First make sure you have all updates installed including service pack 1. Next flash your BIOS to the latest version this happened to me on my HP notebook when i went in to standby and a flash of the BIOS fixed it. If that doesn't work post back here and we can continue to help.

Go to the Sony site where you download all the drivers and stuff then look for the latest BIOS version for your computer model and download it. Usually it comes in a windows installer type thing that will install the BIOS for you. Reason I say flash the BIOS is because when you install BIOS its not just installing a program to the hard drive it is rewriting the ROM of the Basic Input Output System.
