svchost.exe? with HJT log

Computer seems to be running a little slow. I dont know maybe its just me, but when I opened up my task manager and clicked on processes svchost.exe shows 8 times. I googled it and it said svchost.exe could be related to a trojan or opens a backdoor to malicious threats. From this site http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/svchost/
Anyway I was just wondering if there is something wrong... Any help is very appreciated. Thanks

Hello Trev,

No infection is showing here. To reduce a bunch of individual processes from running and facilitate some services without access to sensitive system functions instances of svchost.exe are loaded, associated with service groups from the registry. So it is normal and expected to see quite a few svchost.exe processes active at any one time.

The log shows you have your printer and PaperPort softwares loading, so perhaps changes to those so they load on demand instead of any startups might make things run smoother. Be sure to only make changes through the software's own settings/options - no silliness like msconfig disabling, so you won't cause other conflicts there.
