..........I am not close to my stereo which I had been using for my computer via the optical out and am spoiled. However my wife knows I now need speakers and don't want crap but she leaked what she is gettin me for Christmas and din't have much to spend on it. She is gettimg me the Logitech Z640 5.1 Speakers since they fit in her budget. I remeber someone else looking at them and was curious if anyone has gotten them since then so they could tell me how they sound. I don't plan on blasting them very loud but a little from time to time and they will be connected to my NF7-S and Soundstorm audio. I will be listening to music and doing some gaming with them. If money was not an issue I would have insisted for the 680's or the new Promedia Ultras. Please tell me it's not going to suck royal donkey doo!!!

lol, the sound quality is also VERY excellent, not as good as Creatives line of speakers, but if i didnt have my inspires i would have went with those

i think you will be very pleased with them

Thanks for the encouragement! I need all I can get after listening through a nice Amp and good speakers for so long. But the good part is that we now have an office so to speak with all our computers and stuff in one room. Please excuse the mess as we just go tmoved in the room and haven't finished finding new homes for some of the other stuff.

Oh, that's the wife and kid. ;)

Thanks, If you look hard right I even have my little bench with a monitor underneat for testing. There is a set-up that I just finished with on it now. I took an old small desk and put some 1/4" rubber matting on it for a work bench.

Truth be known. I let my wife have the better desk, chair, monitor, printer and got here a TV card to keep her happy. Meanwhile I settle for the faster chip, better board, more and better memory and my raid array.

Yeah, they are good. Not as powerful as the 680s, but prolly the best in that pricerange. Hell, everything Logitech makes is the best in its price range.

I have got to agree that for the money or more money even they are very hard to beat unless you're talking $100-150 more.
