Boardgaming
I'll be running the strategy boardgames table again this year.
At various points throughout the weekend, I'll be seeking out people to play boardgames at my table. I'll be supplying all of the games from my own collection (there will be no need for others to bring their own boardgames), and I will serve as 'referee' for each game. This is what I'll be spending most of my time doing at the LAN, so whenever you get tired of staring at your screen, there will likely be a boardgame to join starting soon.
There will also be an official boardgame tourney this year. I'm still working out the details, and I will post another thread about the tourney, including the games and the play schedule, once it's finalized.
Here is the list of games that I have already decided to bring:
Settlers of Catan
Puerto Rico
Power Grid
Vegas Showdown
Pente
I plan to bring several more games as well, and I'm taking suggestions as to which ones. If you'd like: look though my collection (click the little robber-pawn in my sig to go to my BGG list) and let me know if any of your favorite games are in that list. It can also be used to find out more about the games that are already in the list above.
Keep in mind a few things about the list: First, this list is all of the games I own, and some of them are not really suitable for the table at the LAN (for example: Risk (it takes far to long to play), Return of the Heroes (it's too complicated to learn in one game), and will not be added to the list of games this year). Second: any card games that you see in the list will already be with me, as they all fit into one toolbox, and I'll be bringing that toolbox with me. Third: I don't actually use BGG to keep track of how much I've played a game, so all of them say '0' for number of plays.
If any one has any questions, or would like to suggest games from my collection to be added to this year's stack, here is the place for it.

First: you can't call dibs on a victory. That's not how the dibs system works.
Second: I'm not sure yet if that's going to be the tourney game (although that's the most likely choice).
Fast one tile turns and no trading. In a tournament trading can't really work.
Still, for a tournament, I vote for Die Macher!
That's not one of the options... :P

No one need worry about bringing their own games. I have plenty
Also do you have the expansion and seafarer's edition of catan? Have any of you guys played tongiaki? Quite excellent as well.
Carcasonne is also good, do you have the expansions of those as well CB?
I would happily play some Axis and Allies, Keebs, I'm gonna have to make more trips to ICHQ methinks
It would take too much time away from the LAN itself. I'm not going to run any games that typically run more than 2 hours.
As my list shows (:P) I have Cities and Knights, but haven't picked up Seafarers yet. I have the 5-6 player expansion for both, and those are part of what I'm bringing. I also have River of Catan, Fishermen of Catan, and the Event Card deck (not all of which will be used for every game of Catan).
I don't have Tongaki, but I do have Entdeker which is a more advanced and strategic game along the same lines. It would be a good one for the LAN. Would you like me to add it to the list?
Axis and Allies will have to wait for a separate weekend for sure.
