Need Help please w/Trojan horse Generic 10.ABDN
Hi Everyone,
I'm having a terrible time getting rid of this malware/Trojan Heres what's going on: AVG keeps popping up and saying C:\Windows\System32\setup\svchost.exe
Trojan horse Generic 10.ABDN Detected on Open
and everytime I delete it it comes right back,... I even tried deleting the file manually and within 1 minute it reappears, I thought maybe it had something to do with Bifrost which also keeps popping up in my registery and then reapperaring soon after I delete the keys? My computer keeps shutting down because of this,... a pop up box appears and says windows must shut down because a DCOM process server quit unexpectedly and then a 2 minute countdown starts. Anyway I really want to get rid of this because I use my computer to make my living as a sound engineer and I have to many important projects in the works so reformatting isn't an option hopefully. Not seeing any infection in this view, but you are describing some familiar malware events there. If you have not yet resolved the problems let's get more current details and see what repairs are needed.
To keep them from interfering with the repairs, be sure to temporarily disable all antivirus/anti-spyware softwares while these steps are being completed. This can usually be done through right clicking the software's Taskbar icons, or accessing each software through Start - Programs.
Download Deckard's System Scanner (dss.exe) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
Making sure dss.exe is directly on your desktop, go to Start - Run, and copy/paste the following (then press OK):
"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config
When the DSS Configuration display opens click the "Check All" button (if the "Uncheck All" button shows, click that, then click "Check All"). Next, Under Main Log, uncheck the following:
System Restore
Temp Cleanup
Process Modules
Then under Options, place a check next to the following:
Backup Registry Hives
Don't make any other changes at this time. Then click the "Scan!" button to start the scan.
Once the scan has completed a textbox will appear - copy/paste those contents back here (main.txt). Also a second text file, extra.txt, will show as minimized in your Task Bar. Maximize/Open this, and copy/paste those contents back here along with the main.txt please. (The logs can also be found in the C:\Deckard\System Scanner folder)
