windows host process (rundll32) has stopped working

edited June 2008 in Science & Tech
I keep getting this error every time I try to personalise my computer (change theme, screensaver, etc). I tried to find the answer on google but with no success, most people saying Nero was to blame, I however do not have Nero installed, can anyone help me? its really annoying.

I'd also like to point out that this is my computer and not related to my other post in the spyware thread.

rundll32 is a core Windows component that allows DLLs to be loaded for applications to use. As such, errors involving it are pretty generic and generally related to a DLL used by the task you were trying to perform at the time the error occurred. Do you get a blue screen of death or just a application error dialog? What are the complete contents of the error? You can pull up all your recent system and application errors from Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Event Viewer.

    Oh, you have Vista.

When did you start receiving these errors?
