ARRSE WING

OK... let's get a feeling about becoming a wing of ARRSE. What? You missed the IRC chat? Are you missing some details? OK...

I invited Tullia, the founder and leader of [ONE], to join us in our IRC chat. We discussed favorite color, favorite food, and more importantly, the ARRSE Wing request.

The break down... [one] and ARRSE are teamed up and intend on merging at some point but until then, they agreed to keep wings balanced. [one] has 2 more wings than ARRSE and ARRSE cannot wait to build one from the ground up so they want to grab an already good alliance.

What is ARRSE?
We are mainly formed from serving or ex-members of the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force and their friends and family members.
Tullia claims that we'd fit in nicely... While there is the possibility of becoming a wing of [one] is is rather remote and not for a while. Joining ARRSE would provide us with protection and the ability to flex our muscles since very few alliances want to pick a fight and would probably do what we've been doing, dodge and take it.

I've always known that we'd be noticed this round and that we'd probably be well suited to being a wing of a big alliance. This is our chance to be a top 30 or even top 20 alliance. Our plans for the clusters will provide us a strong building block and this Wing status would provide us with a greater chance to grab high caliber members to help us reach Top 20 status.

Lastly... This is the first stage... If you vote to join, I still need to work out the details like organization, decision making between wings, how much freedom can we have, can we keep our name or at least incorporate the {IC} name... etc. This is just to make the next step...

So... what say you? Shall we join ARRSE or stay the lonewolf?

    We dealt with them last server and they seemed like decent guys; RAF or ex-RAF folks who are mature and organized. They play for fun, but they're goal oriented and want to be successful. I'm totally in for becoming a wing. kICkArrse!

    I think this could be the first step to becoming something much bigger this round. I say go for it.

    I think it's important to keep {IC} somewhere in the name, or else the close-knit feeling will be diminished. Also, if {IC} will have no say over the direction of the alliance then while this looks like a good thing, it might not be.

    I say yes, provided we're able to keep {IC} and will have a loud voice in decisions that would affect us. Proceed with caution.

    You bet, a2j. I want to make it clear that we're not joining to become whipping boys for them. We are doing fine without them. We want a say in how ARRSE is run. I'm not asking 50% of the vote or anything stupid... I'd like to have the opportunity to have our leadership to help lay the foundation to a WW. If we're told to follow the company line or get booted... uh no. That is not the Icrontic Life. We will stay here for our forums. We will always have the IRC channel, and we will do as much to help each other as possible and not rely on the other wings unless we have to.

    I'm sure there will be some compromises but hopefully they are small and worth accepting in order to be in one of the top 5 multi-alliance confederations.

    hmm; I'd rather wait for a bit, and attempt to become a wing of ONE; as they are better known and more respected amongst Travian players. However, as that isn't an option, I'm perfectly happy joining ARRSE providing, as other people have said, we don't just become their servants :D

    So yes, I vote yes ;)

    I vote yes... because I think it's for the best.

    If/when ARRSE and ONE merge, we'll end up in the same position we'd be in if we were part of ONE.

    For inter-wing communication, it'll either be IRC(or skype), another forum, or any mixture.

    And there's really nothing they can say to oppose this current forum, as it's what gives us our main strength.

    I agree with all the above.
    Join ARRSE now, providing we can keep our identity in some way.
    At some point [ONE] and ARRSE merge to form some mega alliance yet to be named, we become "one".

    win win I think.

    (that and SC1's 7x7 is ARRSE and ONE players !)

    I am up for joining ARRSE but must stress how much I like the feeling of comeraderie in IC and I would not want to lose this. I declined an opportunity to join ONE a few days ago because I like it here and think the leadership is doing a brilliant job with great ideas for the future.

    So, join ARRSE but don't lose what we are about

    Thank you for the support. We're still trying to perfect our roles and communication but we are already back to where we were at server's end. Only better things can come. :-)



    BTW... Poll closes later today. I will reply to the offer late tonight (12 hrs or so from this post) or tomorrow morning (24 hours from now).

    From being there in irc last night you already know my opinions:

    keeping all the strength and individuality that comes with keeping our own identity as {IC} from within etc (as has already been said) - so it's a definite YES from me :cool:

    Ummmm am I right in assuming that, somehow, Topcid was given access to PimpDaddy's virgins (is that now EX-virgins?) cos that's one hell of an endorsement!! :D
    Seriously, really good to read it Topcid - I got exactly the same when I joined last server and love it here.

    I have a team of writers working on all my official remarks... All they ask is for bananas and some ropes to swing on...:bigggrin:

    They sound familiar - I dont wanna get them in trouble, but I think some of them may be moonlighting and working in my local MacDonalds on the side :p
