Ok my setup in my sig I have Oced at 3060 ghz in the bios at 3.7 volts 340 x 9
boots fine and into xp but CPUid says its at 2076 and the multiplier is at 6 check it out I attached the pic



Whats going on?

    That looks like Speedstep kicking in, gnome. If you don't want this to happen, disable EIST and C1E in bios.

    Thanks Mudd that worked its sitting comfortably at 3.1 I could take it higher but I dont like messing with the voltages too much

    There's no reason to disable it. It's actually a good thing to save on powerusage when your computer doesn't need it. It doesn't hinder oveclocking either these days.
