How can i get an image.gif file to play in the power point. and not only have one frame of the gif shown?

    You need to put each frame of the gif in a slide show for Powerpoint.

    Just open the gif with IE or FF..it will play.

    In other words - you can't use animated gif's in power point.

    What if i converted file type to say mp4 or another movie format and used the import movie option?!?!?!?! Could this posible work?

    I don't know what formats the import movie works with (never tried or needed to) but as long as you can get it into a compatible format (likely .avi) it should work. However I haven't seen any software that can convert an animated .gif into an .avi I'm sure some exist I just haven't looked. Start your google-fu

    PP doesn't support animated .gifs? Wow, that is so lame.

    I have had no luck i tried a program and it didn't work :( if any could find one that would help a lot thanks.
    Or could i use this method use some screen capture program and record in a window around the .gif screen recorders record in movie format..

    Maybe there is another way to tackle this. What is it your trying to create in the end? I this is an instructional kind of thing there are programs that will record cursor/key movement and allow you to create demonstrations.
