Xp User Accounts - Welcome Screen
Hi,
Question: When I turn on my PC, three user accounts are listed (I created these usr accounts when I first set up PC). To get to the desktop, I have to choose a user and then wait while the preferences for that user are loaded and eventually I get to the desktop. This is soooo time consuming and unnecessary. There is only one user, with the associated preferences, that I would like to boot as going directly to the desktop.
In the control panel, where they have user accounts, there's a section: "change the way users log on and off". If I turn off the Welcome Screen feature, I assume I'll have to logon with a username and password. Don't want this as I don't remember what password I originally used and I'm afraid of getting locked out of my system, and as I said before, I just want to boot to the desktop.
Is there something that I can change to go directly to desktop every time I boot without worrying about all of the above?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,
One of the directions you referred me to says: "type control userpasswords2". Do I literally type what it says, or do I have to substitute a password where it says userpasswords? If I have to enter a password, I have a problem as I do not remember the password. Let me know what you think., Thanks!
