A very bad problem here...

Well, this started on an offline computer, NO internet used. Right, i went onto my ONLINE computer to get stuff for my OFFLINE computer, and i managed to accidently get a virus onto my computer. This virus is awkward though, i will explain what it does, and what i have tried...

Well, after carefullly watching my computers behaviour...i found out that this virus messes up installers, saying "Corrupt installer, please try again" or something, BUT it works on every other computer!?
If you luckily manage to get some installer to work, I have to quickly put the main EXE into a ZIP or RAR to keep it safe, because, randomly, when im doing something, the EXE will break...yeah, break...i checked carefully, and realised that the file size goes up an extra 1MB  So i need to extract the safe EXE over the broken one to make the app work again
Using programs that record screen info and such, DONT work. Such as Fraps, CamStudio, HyperCam, and a couple of others...
Big files...ANY big files in a ZIP or EXE will be corrupt if i try to extract it!!
And i bet theres more things this "Virus" does :sad2:

What have i tried? Well, i tried to get some virus scanners or something, but i cant install them because theres a virus saying that the installer is corrupt! i only got "Adware" to work, and its not even the latest version!

I have tried blanking out the harddrive and reinstalling windows about 6 times, but it still dont work, it only changes which installers work and makes some other NOT work!

Dont know what to do, i used "hijackthis" and put the log on the website and stuff, but everything has a tick... Please help me :sad2:

I wonder if it's possible to boot a anti-virus off a flash drive. And even then, who knows if the virus will leak and destroy that!

Is this on your offline pc, or online?

Well, the virus dosent actualy DESTROY the installers, it says its corrupt and i should download the file again or something, BUT i go onto another computer, and the installer runs perfectly! same with zips and rars

Yes im offline, but using another computer to ask for help :P

I really dont fully understand my problem, but i have found out quite a bit :/
I dont know where i could find an antivirus anyway to be honest, i dont really have money to buy 1... and if i did buy 1, chances are that it wont install :(

Hm, looks like you'll have to do some fishing without a rod here. Because this is not spyware, it's not embedded in your registry somewhere, making it possible to locate.
Search through /System32 and either navigate to the bottom of the folder or Right click>Arrange Icons By>Modified, and look for any names that seem suspicious to you. (If it is located in here, it will be one of the newer additions to the folder)

Also, look through your processes within Task Manager.

I'm no expert on this stuff here.. So please, if anyone else is watching feel free to add something here!

Haha, well your more expert than me! Anyway, i will go hunt for "odd" names in my system32 folder...might make it work, but im not too sure about deleting things out of there, i could remove something important :O

Well, its 1 of the few things to try
But when you format your harddrive, does it delete everything in system32 anyway?

Yeah, I think it's important to locate the file, but deleting will be another battle. =>(
I'm quite certain that a format will delete everything. If you still really want to do a format, do it the dirty way: with a batch file. Try googleing it.

Hmm, well actualy, now my computer has ANOTHER problem. I switch it on, and all it does is power up...Hard to explain, but i press the button to switch the computer on and the lights on the computer light up and everything, BUT nothing will appear on the screen (NO SIGNAL) and the cd drives wont open, and the Orange light stays on ALL THE TIME. ALSO, when i normaly turn on the computer, i hear a BEEP, but now, i dont hear it... My friend had a look, and he took out the battery for about 30 seconds (to reset the bios or something) and put it back in, but it still didnt work. Im DEFINATLY sure its not the moniter, and the wires are plugged in fine! Whats the problem? My dad says its to do with the powerpack, and my friend says it might be to do with the motherboard...but i thought i could just ask some professionals ;) THANKS! and by the way, i dont get to go on the internet alot, so i might reply every week...sorry, but thanks if you do help
