Can't Format Drive

edited June 2008 in Hardware
Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any utilities that are using this drive, and make sure that no window is displaying the contents of this drive. Then try formatting again.

I keep getting this error. I tried to format the drive in Safe Mode and got the same error.

Well you cant format your drive with the os while your using it... is this a seperate drive? ie for storage or is your os on it?

If its your primary drive then thats why. it cant format its self. you need to format it with the install cd/dvd
