MA78GM-S2H with 4GB memory

Maybe somebody can point me in the right direction. I'm not used to modern BIOSs.

I won 2GB of Kingston PC2-1066 at the LAN and stuck them in with my existing 2GB of Crucial Ballistix of the same speed. Everything ran fine, but I noticed that with them installed they dropped me down to PC2-800.

I got into the Bios and upped everything to 1066 manually, left the timings to Auto, and cranked the voltage to 2.1 volts. It seems to be stable.

CPU-Z says my FSB : DRAM is 3:8. Is this a concern and if so, how do I change it?

Also, what'd the difference between ganged and unganged DC modes?

3:8 is an awfully funky divider. ((266)*3/8) = 99MHz RAM (DDR2-200), and that can't even possibly be right. Even if your FSB were set to 333MHz, that's 125MHz (DDR2-300).

Ganged combines the read/write performance of the memory controllers on the A64. Enable it.

    Hmm..

    Here's the memory tab:

    Type DDR2
    Size 4096 MBytes
    Channel # Dual
    DC Mode Unganged
    NB Frequency 1812.3 MHz

    DRAM Frequency 537mhz
    FSB : DRAM 3:8

    CL 5
    tRCD 7
    tRP 7
    tRAS 24
    tRC 31
    CR 2T

I'll enable ganged on the next restart.

    Eh, I guess it's no more funky than my math. 3:8 is .375, and (200*.375) = 533, or DDR2-1066.

GG Thrax for using the wrong operator.

    All is well.
