How-To Conquer/ Destroy a Village

OK ladies and Gents...

One thing that cannot be stressed enough is the proper way to brush your teeth, oh and how to capture/ level a village. While there is no definitive correct way, there are some definite wrong ways to do it. We'll be working on some of the correct ways.

I took this from a close friend from Last server... this guy knows how to take villages and do it FAST. He rarely got surprised and most defenders gave up long before the village was actually taken/ leveled.

First... some terminology.
Zero-Pop = Level the village... send cats to destroy every building and every resource field.
Cat = Catapult/ trebuchet/ Fire Catapult
Ram = Ram/ Battering Ram
Senator = Senator/ Chief/ Chieftain
Rein = Reinforcement

The proper order of attacking...
  1. Scout the village (Scout defenses and troops) to see what level wall they have and what level palace/residence they have.
  2. Send a clearing wave of troops with rams. The troops should ATTACK and be big enough to wipe out every enemy troop.
  3. Send waves of cats to level the necessary buildings (see below) with escorts. (300 troops to protect cats).

Order to catapult (This assumes you have a level 20 Rally Point of course)
  1. Main building and Residence/palace in wave 1 (plus wall) - this removes the defense bonus given by the residence and wall. Main Building to slow any rebuilding
  2. Granary and Marketplace - no food storage and no ability to trade
  3. Barracks and Rallypoint - cannot produce infantry, cannot see incoming attacks and cannot move troops around

Some tips
... If you hit the Granary & Main Building, you limit them to 800 wheat and remove the ability to repair the Granary, if your next waves take out each Wheat Field, their entire army starve to death. Even if he keeps re-training troops they won't last long.

Note...
Cats... It generally takes 30 to 40 cats to destroy a building depending on the level of the building. Since there are 40 buildings (18 fields and 21 buildings and the wall) that means you need at least 1200 cats to level a village in one strike.

Rams... Not all walls are the same so the number of rams needed to destroy a wall varies. Generally, if you send 300, the wall is a goner. Look at the Travian FAQ page for each wall type (City Wall, & Earth Wall, & Palisade) for more info.

Rally Point... Rally point is only useful for 3 things.
  • Allows you to see incoming attacks/ reins,
  • Prerequisite for Tournament Square to increase speed your troops travel,
  • Determine what can be targeted by cats and also how many targets can be targeted.
Rally point is kind of cool.
  • Level 1 & 2 = Cats target random buildings.
  • Level 3 & 4 = Target Warehouse and Granary.
  • Level 5 through 9 = Bakery, Brickyard, Clay Pit, Cropland, Iron Foundry, Iron Mine, Sawmill, & Woodcutter.
  • Level 10 = Armoury, Barracks, Blacksmith, Embassy, Great barracks, Great stable, Hero's mansion, Main building, Marketplace, Palace, Rally point, Residence, Stable, Tournament square, Trade office, Treasury, Wonder of the World, & Workshop.
  • Level 15 = build the Tournament Square
  • Level 20 = Ability to target 2 buildings

OK... let's discuss. Any improvements? Questions?

    That's the destruction list, showing how many catapults you need to destroy one level off a building at a specific level, and therefore how many you'd need to destroy that building entirely.
    Remember that some buildings only go up to level 5, or 10 for resource fields outside the capital.
    This is also assuming there's no stonemason, which confuses things a bit.

    That means that by maths, the maximum needed to 0 pop a village without a stonemason would be 9009.
    But that's assuming that all buildings go to level 20, and the resource fields to 10, so if it's a capital then the res fields would be up to 18 max, and stonemason screwing with your minds...
    But it's doubtful that you'll come across a village like that (and think of tearing it down, I'd rather organise a conquering, or leave it well alone!)

    I came up with the priority of buildings to hit... Of course, they differ based on conquering and zero'ing.

    Order and number of Cats for Destroying a village:
    • Residence = 60
    • Main = 60
    • Granary = 60
    • Rally Point = 60
    • Wheat = 30 per field (180 for 6c, 270 for 9c, 450 for 15c)
    • Warehouse = 60
    • Barracks = 60
    • Stable = 60
    • Market = 60
    • Bonus Buildings = 20 (5 of them so 100)
    • Iron/ Wood/ Clay = 30 per field (360 for 6c)
    • Academy = 60
    • Siege = 60

    Total…1240 to 33 hit critical buildings… Take out the wall with rams so 6 building spot left to hit. Send 8 additional 30 cat waves set to random and all the buildings should be gone. Total cats required... 1480 + rams.
    Here is my suggestions for the order and number of Cats for Conquering a Village. This is key... can you send 5 senators at one time? Are they coming from villages with Grand Balls going on? If not you'll need 6 or 7 Senators. If you cannot send that many and need to return several times, you need to damage the village enough to make it hard to defend. This is tricky since you want to capture the village without doing too much damage... So... You're looking to hit buildings that keep him from building troops and receiving reinforcements.
    • Residence = 60
    • Main = 60
    • Granary = 60
    • Rally Point = 60
    • Wheat = 30 per field (180 for 6c, 270 for 9c, 450 for 15c)
    • Warehouse = 60 (maybe just send 30 to damage it and reduce his storage?)
    • Barracks = 60 (maybe just send 20 to damage it and make it slow)
    • Stable = 60 (maybe just send 20 to damage it and make it slow)

    See how tricky that can be... where do you stop him from defending and begin to make the village useless to you? You HAVE to take out the residence and the Main building since that will make it tough to rebuild anything. Granary keeps him from being reinforced and Rally Point makes him blind. Do you hit a few fields just enough to keep his wheat low? How about warehouse? If he has reduced resources and cannot store troops due to granary... maybe just damage the barracks and stable. Now if you're able to hit him in twice in 5 hrs... a lvl 5 barracks cannot make that many troops so maybe just increase you clearing wave next round.
    OK.... there is my latest ideas on village capturing/ destroying. Feel free to refine these tips so we can all become better attackers. BTW... Miss Sophie can attest to the efficiency of this method. We sent 1500 cats and they landed within 60 seconds of each other and at least 100 cats found no village to hit. :D
