SanDisk releases write-once 'WORM' SD

<p>In what is perhaps the first step towards an age where electronic storage is as ubiquitous as paper, Sandisk has gone ahead to announce the WORM -- write once/read many -- SD card in 128MB. The purpose of SD-ROM is to serve as incredibly long-lasting storage for information that should not be erased. Such information includes patient interactions, police interviews, cash registers and electronic voting.</p>
