Microsoft sued for Silverlight

<p>It is not as though Microsoft's intrusion into Adobe territory with the advent of Silverlight wasn't risky business. But the first pitfall in Microsoft's enriched web media push comes -- surprisingly -- not from Adbobe, but a little-known firm by the name of Gotuit.</p>
<p>A recent <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-9992580-56.html">lawsuit filed</a> by Spencer Hosie of San Francisco on behalf of Gotuit alleges that the video meta data and simulstreaming <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-9992580-56.html">powering</a> NBC's internet coverage of the Beijing Olympics infringes multiple patents held by Gotuit.</p>
<p>As yet Microsoft has not been served with the suit and was therefore mum to comment on the details when questioned.</p>
