Vista User Control Question

edited August 2008 in Science & Tech
I'm utterly new to Vista--just bought a laptop--and I'm a tad stuck. After closing and reopening the laptop's lid (computer left on), I met with a screen that has my user/log on name that I must click on to resume my session. It didn't do this before and I can't seem to figure out how to change this. Any clues vastly appreciated.

Your computer is probably set to activate Standby mode when the lid closes. It is a standard behavior for Vista to request a password when waking from Standby.

I don't have a Vista system in front of me, but this should work...
Right-click on your desktop and select Personalize (should be the last item)
Click on the Screen Saver tab
Somewhere on the screen should be a button regarding your power settings. Explore this screen and you should be able to control the suspend/hibernate/shutdown behavior of your computer for just about any situation.

Excellent, that did it! The settings are under "Change advanced settings." Thanks so much for the help!
