Hi all, my folding seems to have gone haywire. It finished a WU then this. I have deleted everything in the work folder and restarted it several times, t just says there's a problem and turns off. Any suggestions please?

What client are you running bothered? I'd been having problems at work with the 6.20 client and eventually I deleted everything except the client itself and started over with a fresh config. So far it has done the trick.

    6.22 SMP beta 2.
It was a pig to set up (but not a very big pig ;)) and has worked fine since then until today.

Have you tried just deleting it all and setting it up again.

And/Or how about just downloading the 6.22 SMP beta 3 client and replacing the one you have now. All you have to do is stop the client and put this one in it's place and restart it. It's that easy.

I wish it was easy, I would be happy if it was only difficult.
I ended up having to go into safe mode and deleting everything folding. Then I ran the new client, Beta 3, completed all the config info and it started. I looked at task manager and it was only using one core so I stopped it and restarted it. This is what I got.
I have deleted and reinstalled it several times, leaving config options at default (except user and team No.), changing advanced options, whatever. It runs with one core and/or refuses to run at all on restarting. I've no idea why.
    Help a brother chums.

    Hey Bothered
It looks like you have not set it to run -smp , If you have not given it the flag it will run in uniprocessor mode ( 1 Core )
You can set flags in advanced options of the setup or give the shortcut a flag.

    Hope that helps

I set the flag. I also tried setting 'no' to 'change advanced options' and left stuff at default. I got the same result whatever I set?

I would like to see the header of your log file. here is mine I am running the deino client, I have found it to be more stable.

If you are running this on the rig in your sig you may be better off running the GPU client than the SMP CPU client. ( More PPD )

Thanks for the help guys, and sorry, I have deleted it all again. I have gone back to the download page, http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther.
I must admit I don't know anything about the GPU or deino clients. I am using the machine in my sig so which would you suggest using?

Use the GPU client, run the 177.35 beta driver; and here is why!

Got, installed and running. I didn't set any flags though, not sure if I need to or, in fact, can. It seems incredibly fast, doing 1% every 1min 20 seconds. I don't know how many points it'll get but it'll be interesting to see and at least it is folding again.
    Many thanks all.

ps. Task manager shows it is still using just one CPU core, does that matter with GPU folding?

Sorry for the late reply. Looks like _k_ got you going !!

You will probably see around 3500-4000 PPD on stock clocks. Depending on the project.
Glad you are up and running again. Fold on !

There are no tags needed for the GPU client unless you run two video cards folding at the same time, cannot by in SLI or Crossfire. Each client for GPU2 folding only needs one core to run full load; check the GPU2 thread it will provide some basic information as well as how to get OC a NVidia card with just ppd in mind.
