Hey I was wondering how to attach a monitor to my laptop. I have a toshiba laptop. IF anyone could help that would be great

    Does the laptop have a VGA or DVI port on it? If yes, then you just need a VGA/DVI cable and a monitor.

    Yeah I have a vga port. I put it in and the screen appeared on my monitor for about a minute but then went back to my laptop what else do I have to do?

    Find the monitor toggle button on the keyboard (it looks like a box with a line on either side, and you may have to hold a function key to get to it) that will switch the system among all of the available modes. One of them should be what you're looking for.
