have tried to contact lavasoft but no luck cannot delete the program from computer or install upgrade. when try to run a scan tells me scanner is busy. When open program says that data base is corrupted and to delet and reinstall also unable to do this.

Have 2 computers that program cannot be deleted from or updated

any help would be appreciated posted to lavasoft back in july and still no answer from them

Have you tried downloading the newest version and installing it that way? It should detect the old version, clean it and upgrade to the new one.

Other then that you can manually remove the program by going into safe mode deleting it from program files. Then do a file search for 'ware' and look for any other ad-aware files it brings up *note it'll probably bring up many other files also. Just delete the ad-aware ones.

Then do a regedit search for lavasoft and delete any entries. Then reboot.

That should prevent it from running, could give you some errors though, but that's fine. Then try installing the new version and it should clean it up.

Once you've done that. I would then suggesting uninstalling the new version from your machine and whatever anti-virus software you are using and getting the new AVG 8 Free edition. It has a built in ad/spy scanner in addition to the anti-virus scanner. You can get it from free.avg.com

You don't have to do the search in safe mode. But if any of the files are active you can't delete them unless you are in safe mode.
