MSI K8T Neo questions.
MSI K8T Neo mobo.
Question #1
What's the highest cpu this board will take?
I've got this board with an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ in it.
I didn't know if it would take anything higher.
Manual says 3200+, 3400+ and higher.
Compliments to Gnome. (Thanks bud.)
Just getting around to setting it up. Trying to keep idle hands busy.
I know it's an older mobo, but it's newer than anything I have.
I'm trying to get it set up with as little money spent as possible.
As it is I'll be buying a graphics card for it.
My last build was an AMD Athlon XP 3200 on an Asus A7N8X.
Question #2
I need to know- What's the best AGP card out there now?
DX10 if possible for AGP if there is such a thing.
Last one I purchased was the Radeon X1600 Pro 256MB.
Also, To anyone that has setup this board....
If you have suggestions on getting it setup or comments on any problems you might have had setting it up.
I'd appreciate any and all input friends. Thanks.

What do you all think about this card for best performance on AGP?
Not too bad for price either.

Anyone else feel free to comment/suggest on the mobo or graphics card also.
Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 512MB AGP Video Card Because it wasn't available at newegg.
Thermaltake CL-G0102 Dual-Orb VGA Cooler Best price I could find.
OCZ EL Platinum Dual Channel PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB) Best price I could find.
I've got everything else for the build/upgrade.

Yes Sir,
Been using it all day. It really does find better low prices most of the time.
NZXT TEMPEST Black Midsize Tower
CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready
I already have the K8T Neo / AMD Athlon 64 3400+ CPU.
OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit
Already have 2 X Western Digital WD Raptor 36GB Serial ATA-150 10,000 RPM
POWERCOLOR Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported
NEC DVD Burner ND-3550A
Already have an Ultra 7-in-1 USB 2.0 Internal Multi Media floppy drive.
That's the whole Kit 'n Kaboodle.
I think this will be a little upgrade to the Asus A7N8X / AMD Athlon XP 3200 Cpu / 2x1G OCZ Gold pc3200 / Sapphire RADEON X1600 PRO / 2x 36G WD Raptor 10,000rpm / Lite-On DVD player / 3in1 floppy reader.
I could add a 1G to slot 2 but that would defeat the slot 1 / slot 3 dual data rate.
Not to mention I run Win XP Pro not Vista.
And I really don't run any memory intensive programs.
A little photo work. No real rendering or anything of that nature.
Gaming is the most intense thing I'm doing at the moment.
And I'm trying to save a little expense.
When I upgrade to a newer mobo / cpu I'll probably get the 4G the mobo will allow or require for the quad cpu's etc.
