"Do I want to allow scripts to run?"

My old Dell Latitude CPi-A366XT laptop has been doing something weird. It has XP Home and IE6 on it.
I don't usually use it for internet surfing, but today I was, and almost every time I open a page, it pops up a little window for Internet Explorer, and in it, it says:
"Scripts are usually safe. Do you want to allow scripts to run?", and there's a Yes and No box.
How do I reset something to avoid this very annoying Vista-like warning? I don't know how it got there in the first place.
