Call of Duty woes

edited September 2008 in Gaming
OK so I install and play CoD for a while and it all works fine (On Vista). Then I don't play it for a while. When I come back to it, it says my graphics card is missing features required to run the game. I re-install the drivers, update and download any patches but it still doesn't work. Here is what was in the CoD console:

Your video card appears to be missing one or more features required to run Call of Duty.

You should install the latest drivers for your video card, being sure to uninstall the old drivers first. If you already have the latest drivers, you should completely uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. This fixes most problems. If the game still doesn't work, it may be that your video card does not have the minimum features required. Please check the readme for more information, including a list of supported video cards.

Can you make any sense of it?

But its worked before on Vista. And I don't have any other problems with Vista. Still better than a Mac...

    Amen.

Have you tried completely removing the game, PunkBuster, and any patches/mods/hax?

All I've done is un-install using the add or remove programs thing in the control panel. I thought patches un-installed with the game? I don't hack it either.

Hmm, did you make sure there were no registry entries left over? And did you restart before installing the game again? Also, could you post your system specs so we can see what you are running it on?

I don't know what you mean by registry entries being left over. I tried restarting before installing and it didn't work. I've got an Intel 2.1 Ghz dual core T8100 , GeForce 8400M GS card and 2gb of memory. Its a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. And Vista Home Premium.
