While Google's launch of Chrome received considerable buzz last Tuesday, Wednesday saw the ever-important vetting process well under way. JavaScript errors with Facebook, an insecurity that eased phishing attacks, and a sure-fire technique to crash the fledgling browser tempered its arrival.

Beginning the never-ending break/fix cycle that all browsers endure, Google has made Chrome build 149.29 available. Googler Simon -- going by the name "Google Guide 2" on the Chrome group -- rolled out the new build yesterday amidst the noon hour:

Hi Group,

We've released an update to Google Chrome that fixes many of the
issues reported here, including:

the ":%" error

Javascript trouble on Facebook

confirmed security vulnerabilities

You should be automatically updated soon, but if you'd like these
important fixes now, follow the instructions here: <a href="http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95414">
Chrome Support

I'd also like to thank members of this group for their outstanding
troubleshooting help -- keep it coming!
