Problem with hijack this and my connaction
Hi,
I've tried running hijack this but the virus seems to be smarter than me and it doesn't allow me to run it properly and when I try to do what Hijack This reccommends which is going to
notepad "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
and deleting the line that hijack this finds, my computer doesn't let me save the file so I can't proceed.
I've had the virus for at least a week. First it blocked some startup programs (first adobe acrobat reader, then avg control center). Windows told me to reinstall them and it would probably solve my problems. I did it with a lot of doubts and it only worked for acrobat reader. A few days later I lost my connection to internet. I tried formating my computer but it didn't have any effect on my connection or on avg's installation. I'm currently running on Vista, but before formatting and reinstalling vista I've tried installing Windows XP and Linux but my computer didn't let me, it didn't recognize the windows xp cd and gave me a error message for linux. I even tried running the live cd of linux (OS on the cd) but without great success.
Here are the names of the active processes on my computer :
csrss.exe
dwn.exe
ehmsas.exe
ehshell.exe
ehtray.exe
explorer.exe
mfpmp.exe
MSACui.exe
taskeng.exe
taskeng.exe
taskmgr.exe
winlogon.exe
wmplayer.exe
wmpnscfg.exe
If someone could help me I would be most grateful.
Thanks in advance
Vinz
