Software or hardware problem? Graphics card.

I got a Radeon X850 Pro 256 MB AGP video card on eBay from a reseller who was selling out the ATI stock of them. New graphics cards, but it was just the card, no driver CD or documentation was included. It worked but had problems. It'd go to a solid blue screen (not BSOD) every now and then, and the only solution was to restart the PC. And it wouldn't play some .wmv encoded videos properly. People and objects in the videos would be all sorts of weird colors, but the sound played fine.

I tried several different driver version from ATI and none fixed it, so I RMA'd the card back to the reseller and they sent me another one. It works better but still has the problem of making .wmv encoded videos the wrong colors. I tried the newest drivers from the ATI website, and also the 7.7 versions, which were the oldest available.

And ideas? I can get a refund on this graphics card, but somehow I think it's a software issue causing it, because other types of videos and World of Warcraft work pretty well.

Any ideas?

I've tried a few different versions of ATI drivers, such as 6.2, 7.7, and 8.8, and the 4.8.8.2 Omega drivers, but .wmv encoded video will only play right if I turn the hardware acceleration down 3 notches.
