not getting wu's?

anyone having problems getting wu's? my main rig keeps saying F@h:attempting to get work packet.

    post a bit of your log please ...I'm getting them fine.
    Let's see what server you're trying to get wu's from.

    try stopping the client and starting again ...then post your log after about 2 mins and I'll go check the server starus

    it appears a few servers are having issues ...you may not get any wu's tonight if that is the case ...but from your log I can't tell which server it's trying to use.

    maybe mmonnin has ideas ...

    just kidding ...the servers will probably be up by noon tomorrow at the latest ...usually just takes someone to go in in the morning and reset it.

    why not fold two clients per machine so that when one is hung up like that the other will still have something to do?
    just make sure that the second client is machineid=2

    well it's relative bud ...if you fold 2 of the same wu's it will take twice as long.

    Configure it exactly the same way you have the first client configured ...how are you setup now?

    what folder do you have everything in?

    think about it this way:

    If it takes 1 hour to fold a 1 point wu that is 1 point per hour right?

    At that rate you would fold 2 wu's in 2 hours.

    And at that rate folding w/ 2 clients you would just fold 2 wu's in 2 hours anyway so it's the exact same thing.

    what I would do is copy that folder and give it another name ...since my first folder is called f@h1 I would call the next one f@h2
    also I would dete the work folder since it will build a new one once it downloads a new wu.

    I would change the client.cfg in the second folder from this ...

    to this ...after that I would start both clients and monitor what happens for a few days.

    Well after checking the Assignment servers again, they are both rejecting as well as a few others. Gonna have to wait til someone gets in at Stanford. They are on the West coast so it may be an hour or so.

    I run a Genome service in the background. In case this ever happens I still have a WU to work on, the service WU never expires, and I still return gromacs WUs quickly.

    i ust checked the servers and they are working for me but im at a school computer and cant check if my home computer is getting wu's
