German hardware website Hard Tecs 4U has published one of the first reviews of the AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor.
This new model runs at the same 2 GHz frequency as the flagship product, but does so with 512 KB of level two cache, which is half of what the 3200+ model has. Cheapest Price Watch price has it for $214, which is $156 less than the $370 3.2 GHz P4.

I wonder how well the Athlon 62 3000+ will overclock.... (Praying it overclocks more than the old 1700+s)

I dont think its fair to compare the 64's to the P4 since the P4 is not the latest and greatest from Intel.

    It's perfectly fair.

Both products are the respective company's flagship design.

    What's unfair about comparing a 2.0ghz 512K CPU vs a 3.2ghz 512K CPU??? :)

The Athlon 64 3000+ isn't AMD latest and greatest either. That would be the 2.2ghz 1MB Athlon FX51.

Also the P4 EE isn't available unless you're Dell.
