i have a USB 2.0 BlacX dock, since this they released a Esata. I have Esata on my mobo and was thinking since I use that drive for about everything including all my music and photos. Would it be worth the switch in speed?

You're still limited by the speed of the drive, which isn't much faster than USB 2.0 anyhow. You will remove CPU overhead, however, which will allow you to do intense transfers without slowing the system to a crawl.

If it's just music and photos, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have major programs or games on it, or use it for editing video, then I'd move up to eSata.
