ATI secures the budget market with new cards

ATI is launching the new HD 4550 and 4350 graphics cards today, clenching the three major segments of the graphics card market. These two budget cards should cost $55 and $40 respectively, consume very little power, and offer consumers all sorts of HD video options.

    Those are great prices, but my old 7600GT is between 33 and 50% faster than the 4550 in terms of fill rate.

    Of course, my old outdated card still sells for too much money in NOS to be the competition. More appropriately, the 4550 looks to be considerably faster than the similarly-priced x1550 I see in the Nextag sidebar right now.
