Palit 9600GT 1Gig VS DFI LanParty Ultra = lack of space
I had a hell of a hard time installing this card on my motherboard.
All new video card are of THAT size ? I mean, this card is at least 20% longer than my old ATI Radeon X850 XT.
My problem was that the card go deeper on the motherboard and go directly in FRONT on my 4 sata connection.
Luckily i managed to connect my 2 sata on the 2 connection in the left, but its very very VERY tight and the connector is squeeze by the end of the card.
Plus, the card now hide completly my chipset FAN , but i least i did not record any heat problems for now.
I just post to warn everyone with older boards that probably new cards (even if PCI-E 2.0 is compatible with 1.0) that they may run into problems depending on the size of the new video card.
I only hope that now that my 2 sata connectors are literaly squeeze on the videocard heat wont cause the connector to stop working correctly. For now at least it seems ok, as long as i dont want another HD :P
