rundll32 - Desktop Properties problems

edited October 2008 in Hardware
hello -

I received help with a virus problem here over the summer and think y'all are fantastic!! I so appreciated the help and attention I received!

Now I have a new problem - I changed my wallpaper by choosing a file from windows explorer, right click, set as desktop wallpaper. It came up tiled but I wanted centered. So I went to the display properties. When I clicked on the desktop tab, it wouldn't open so I opened the task manager. I saw that it was racking up mem usage and using 100% of cpu. So I killed it. I tried again by opening the desktop display properties and selecting the appearance tab. I was able to change to a different theme, was able to get to and change the screen saver, everything except the desktop tab. Every time I click on it, it goes wild and I have to kill it by ending the rundll32 process.

I use Adware Alert 2007 and AVG Anti-Virus. Both show no threats or infections.

I'm thinking I have to use some sort of restore function but I never have and am a little afraid to try it by myself.
