Intel to move Pentium M to 533MHz bus next year

edited December 2003 in Science & Tech
It has been revealed that Intel plans to move its Pentium M CPU's to a 533MHz FSB sometime during 2004. It is un-likely though that this will happen until the final quarter.

[blockquote]By this time next year, Intel will have almost completely migrated its Pentium M family to the Dothan 90 nanometer architecture, and it's telling its original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to prepare to expect a full price "refresh" then.

The top speed chip by Q4 next year is expected to fly along at 2.13GHz, although these microprocessors aren't sold on this type of basis.

The change to 533MHz front side buses has totally altered the look of the Pentium M family roadmap.
