Vintage Tandy 1000 SX
I have an old Tandy 1000 SX with a Seagate ST 238R hard drive with WD1002A-27X hard drive controller and a 5.25 floppy disk drive. Everything seems to be working fine and I can view the files on the hard drive if I use the start up disk in drive A:, then change to drive C:. So, is there anyone that can give me advice on how to make the hard drive a boot drive? Thanks. Your help is greatly appreciated as I don't see any letters or words indicating master, slave or anything else on this very old equipment.

If it is just a Dos system you can boot up off the floppy and "fdisk /mbr" to make sure there is a master boot record on the hd, then you can "sys c:" to put the os on it.
It really all depends on whether it has Deskmate in ROM or on Disk.
If you're going to put standard MSDos or PCDos on it you'll loose the Desmate functionality...
