The 2008 amendment to the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 gave telecoms retroactive immunity from lawsuits related to assisting the government in its domestic wiretapping program.     They really need to get rid of a lot of FISA amendments. Hopefully this gets some attention and accomplishes something. After 9/11 FISA became a hostile document to U.S. citizen's rights to privacy.
