Sup Guys,

Never had this problem before, now since reloading everything, all my clan buds can hear the game in the background when I transmit. Don't know how to shut it off.

Using TeamSpeak and a Audigy 2. Have TeamSpeak set to "press to xmit" Mic is always live, can hear myself in headphones, never could before. ??????????? HELP!

Any sugestions?

Thanks

If I mute the mic, how do I use it???:scratch:

    That doesn't make any sense.

It just mutes it so when you talk into it, it doesn't play over your speakers. But it still picks up the mic you just can't hear it.

The only mute I knowj mutes all sound.

Plus that won't help this situation, I'm getting Game sounds when I press xmit. It's not playing over my speakers, the actual games sounds are playing, while I try to talk. My co-clan members can hear me, and the sounds from the game, when I try to talk to them.

I can hear my own breathing(in my headphones) through my headset microphone, never had it happen before. Before all my clan members heard was me talking to them.

OK, maybe I need to start over, cause you guys aren't getting what I'm saying.

    1. I have an Audigy 2 Soundcard and a set of Plantronic headphones.

    2. Before I wiped my HD and reinstalled everything, while on TeamSpeak( TeamSpeak set to "press to talk"), I could press my right mouse button to talk, and all my co-clan members could hear was MY VOICE, nothing else. There would be NO sound from my mic, unless I hit transmit.

    3. After I reinstalled everything, I can hear myself breathing, AND when I hit "press to talk",my co-clan members can hear my voice & the sounds from the game in the background.

You sure you plugged the Headset in Properly? Sounds like your mic's acting as a receiver/transmitter. Place your ear against the " 'robot penis' - Peter Griffin," and see if you can hear anything.

What you have is you probably have the recording option set to all, or something like "What U Hear" where as it should be set to just the Microphone.

Bring up the sound mixer like in the above picture, then click "Options >> Properties" and then click the "Recording" Radio box. Now tick all the boxes at the bottom and OK that window. You should now have a different set of Mixer controls.

Now simply click the "Select" tickbox below "Microphone". You may have to play with the volume level to get it how you want though.

    Hawk,

All that button does is mute the mic totally, that's NOT what I want to do. I guess your not getting what I'm saying in the above posts. If I mute the mic, my clan-mates can't hear me, tried it. ?????

    Enverex,

It's already set to "microphone" not "what you hear". Can still hear myself through the head phones.

Beginning to think this is a Creative Labs Software problem. No matter what button, slider, or checkbox I adjust(other than mute), my mic is always on.

Thanks guys, if you have anymore info, let me know.

Rada, try this. In Control Panel/ Sound Audio Devices Properties/Audio tab. Click Sound Playback Volume. If you see the Mic, check the mute box. Now open Sound Recording Volume, ensure Microphone is selcted.

If that doesn't work, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord for a minute. You'd be surprised how often this works for buggy or missing devices.

He's already been told to do the first paragraph, he said it didn't work.

Run 'sndvol32 /rec' to select the input device and level. Mic ought to be muted on regular 'sndvol32'.

sndvol32 = decide what comes out of your speakers
sndvol32 /rec = decide what's interpreted as input for games and recording and all (note the difference between Select and Mute)

Actually it sounds like this won't work from the above posts - just about the same thing. A neat shortcut, but... weird that it doesn't work... can you post a screenshot of your sndvol32 /rec (recording control window?)
