:banghead: I have this movie from a friend from a P2P network and it came as a .bin and .cue. I translated it and I am left with a .dat file as the target of my interest it seems... What do I do with it now?

that file is probably copy straight from a VCD, and u can open it and play it with windows media player just fine, even without any special codec, and when u start WMP, just go to file and open and then in the File of types area, chose any type.

so u don't have to download another software to play it.

you can change the file ext. to .avi and then you don't have to worry about it later

No you can't, because .DAT files are mpeg1/2 files from VCD/SVCDs.

AVIs are a container format for compressed mpeg4 media. OGM, XViD, DiVX, etc.
