Can't join a game online on LOTR BFME2

I can't seem to get into a game online when i log on the pc game, Lord Of The Rings, Battle For Middle Earth 2. I log on, get to the main lobby, and i click join game. Once i click join game the OPTIONS button dissapears and the EXIT button also dissapears. After that nothing happens for a few minutes and then it automatically exits out and i get a pop up saying, "Game.dat has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for your inconvenience.".....
Anyone have any ideas how to stop this from happening?
I'm really baffled by this one.
